We’re currently working with a well-established trust and corporate services provider who is seeking an experienced Deputy Client Accounting Manager to support their growing client accounting function. Supporting the Client Accounting Manager, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality financial reporting and accounting services across multiple jurisdictions, including the Isle of Man, Guernsey, the United Kingdom, and the British Virgin Islands (BVI). The role offers a blend of technical accounting responsibilities, client interaction, and team leadership.
The Role
As Deputy Client Accounting Manager, you will assist with the day-to-day management of a team of client accountants while ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and timely delivery of services to clients. You will also contribute to process improvements and support the development of junior team members.
Key Responsibilities

Support the Client Accounting Manager with day-to-day management of a team of six Client Accountants, including workload allocation, mentoring, and performance support

Prepare and review annual financial statements for trusts, companies, and other client entities in accordance with UK GAAP or other applicable accounting standards

Prepare and submit Isle of Man, Guernsey, and UK tax filings, VAT returns, and other statutory submissions

Prepare and submit BVI financial returns

Maintain general ledger accuracy through reconciliation of bank accounts, investment portfolios, accruals, and intercompany balances

Work closely with Client Relationship Managers and Administration teams to gather information and resolve queries

Liaise with clients, auditors, and tax advisers to support audit processes and ensure timely submissions

Support compliance and risk management activities by maintaining accurate financial records aligned with regulatory requirements

Prepare management accounts, cashflow summaries, and financial analysis as required

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and service delivery

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and senior accountants, supporting ongoing professional development
Skills and Experience – Essential

Professionally qualified accountant (ACCA preferred) with at least five years’ post-qualification experience

Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, particularly UK GAAP

Experience working with offshore trust and corporate structures

Extensive experience with client investment portfolios and relevant accounting and tax treatment

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Skills and Experience – Desirable

Experience working across multiple jurisdictions, ideally including the Isle of Man, Guernsey, the UK, and the BVI

Familiarity with fiduciary and accounting systems such as Viewpoint or Quantios

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience leading or mentoring a small team
